Model shoot Feb 20 2009
Members were invited to try out their skills at last Friday's meeting of the Barry Camera Club when ex chairman Mark Lowen organised a portrait session with two local models Shanea and Deryn Gaiger. After setting up the lighting and backgrounds Mark gave a short talk about the procedures and protocols involved in hiring and photographing models especially females under 18. He then explained the rudiments of taking the photos using the softlight he had installed and how this could be triggered by the photographer's own "on camera" flash or by a special trigger device attached to the camera. For many members this was the second time they had had an opportunity to benefit from Mark's experience at the club as a similar session was held last year . The models used a variety of outfits and styles to give members a range of images under the watchful eye of Mark. Some twenty plus members took the opportunity to try this style of photography and all were using digital cameras which allowed the users to view immediately how successful they had been. Club chairwoman Barbra Archdale-Smith thanked Mark Lowen for his efforts and excellent guidance throughout the evening
