Barrian Cup and Dave Cowdrey Trophy 2011
This year’s Barrian Cup club competition for the best panel of five prints and the Dave Cowdrey Trophy for the best individual landscape or seascape was held at the St Francis Millennium Hall, Barry, on Saturday 4th June 2011. Councillor John Clifford, Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan was welcomed by Barry Camera Club Chair Steve Durbin to open this year’s competition. The prints were judged by Leo Rich ARPS, DPAGB, APAGB, EFIAP of Salisbury Camera Club.
This event was well attended with representatives from 25 clubs with 125 prints.
The winner of the Barrian Cup was awarded to ‘Inn Focus Group’ based in Brynmawr, Gwent and a very close second place with only one point difference was awarded to ‘Port Talbot Camera Club’. Third place was awarded to Tenby & District Camera Club.
The winner of the Dave Cowdrey Trophy was awarded to Dave Williams also from Inn Focus Group with a colour print entitled ‘Elgol’ which was a beach scene with pebbles and a strong sky.
